Dr. Cordelia R. Cochran

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Cordelia R. Cochran, MS, DNP, PMHNP-BC, ARNP, LMHC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Mental Health Therapist serving individuals in Tacoma and throughout Washington State. With over 15 years of experience in mental health care, she provides trauma-informed psychiatric services including medication management, therapy, and coaching.

Dr. Cochran holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Seattle University and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma-related disorders through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Her approach is holistic, culturally responsive, and client-centered.

She is formally trained in EMDR therapy through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness and integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build mindfulness, resilience, and values-based living. Dr. Cochran tailors treatment plans that support both emotional healing and practical wellness goals. Her work centers around dismantling barriers to care and empowering clients to reclaim their narrative.

As a queer Black woman, Dr. Cochran brings an intersectional and affirming lens to her work—offering inclusive, identity-conscious care to LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC communities, and other historically marginalized groups.
